Hace dos d\u00edas era el D\u00eda Internacional de la Felicidad y tambi\u00e9n el D\u00eda Mund\u00edal sin Carne y hace unas semanas el D\u00eda de la Mujer. Y te preguntar\u00e1s para qu\u00e9 sirve la celebraci\u00f3n de todos estos D\u00edas Internacionales&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>En primer lugar surgen derivados de problemas mundiales existentes, y con el objetivo de concienciar, sensibilizar y llamar la atenci\u00f3n para que exijamos a nuestros gobiernos y estados a que act\u00faen y tomen medidas. Son promovidos por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas, la cual adem\u00e1s de se\u00f1alar estos d\u00edas, suele hacer una descripci\u00f3n de la situaci\u00f3n y dar recomendaciones para mejorar y solucionarla.<\/p>\n<p>La verdad que existen tantos problemas que podr\u00edamos estar reivindicando casi todos los d\u00edas del a\u00f1o&#8230; Pero hoy nos centraremos en el agua.\u00a0Las Naciones Unidas se han impuesto este a\u00f1o el objetivo de concienciar y garantizar la disponibilidad de agua y su gesti\u00f3n de una forma sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Y es que el agua es vida. Todos necesitamos agua, para beber, para lavarnos, para disfrutar, para cultivar, para crecer. La pobreza, el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, la sostenibilidad y nuestra salud dependen del agua.<\/p>\n<p>Durante mis meses en Cambodia, pude experimentar en primera mano lo que es vivir sin agua corriente. En el colegio donde hac\u00eda el voluntariado ten\u00edamos el lujo de disponer de agua corriente, la cual se filtraba a trav\u00e9s de un filtro que estaba enchufado a la corriente el\u00e9ctrica. A veces sufr\u00edamos apagones que pod\u00edan durar d\u00edas, y cuando eso suced\u00eda nos qued\u00e1bamos sin agua pues el filtro no iba. Es entonces cuando casi con verg\u00fcenza ten\u00edamos que acudir a nuestros vecinos, ellos no ten\u00edan agua corriente ni luz el\u00e9ctrica, pero ahi est\u00e1bamos nosotros pidi\u00e9ndoles que nos prestasen agua, la cual era recolectada de las lluvias en unos gigantescos tanques de barro que todos ten\u00edan en el patio de sus casas. Nunca olvidar\u00e9 las duchas que me di a base de cubazos en la parte trasera de la casa, en el patio; y recuerdo tambi\u00e9n otro d\u00eda, con agua de la lluvia que ca\u00eda directamente por una de las tuber\u00edas, esta podr\u00edamos decir que era lo mejor, pues al final la tuber\u00eda hac\u00eda de alcachofa de ducha, solo que el agua sal\u00eda con much\u00ediiisima presi\u00f3n y fr\u00eda casi de dejarte la piel morada! En situaciones as\u00ed es cuando realmente te das cuenta y valoras el lujo de tener una ducha de agua caliente.<\/p>\n<p>En el pueblo se hizo un estudio para ver las principales preocupaciones de los habitantes. El acceso a agua limpia, el disponer de ba\u00f1os y el acceso a la sanidad fueron los que m\u00e1s se repitieron. As\u00ed fue como comenz\u00f3 todo un proyecto del que me siento orgullosa haber participado.<\/p>\n<p>Junto con otra organizaci\u00f3n especializada en el tratamiento del agua limpia y colaboraciones privadas, conseguimos poder ofrecer a las familias unos filtros de cer\u00e1mica hechos a base de arroz y arcilla. Estos filtros permit\u00edan disponer de agua limpia apta para el consumo humano, podr\u00edan beberla, usarla para cocinar, beber y lavarse los dientes por ejemplo, mejorando as\u00ed los standares de vida. A las familias se les ped\u00eda una peque\u00f1a contribuci\u00f3n de dos d\u00f3lares con el fin de darles un sentido de propiedad sobre los filtros y que no fuese solo caridad, adem\u00e1s deb\u00edan atender una clase formativa para que aprendiesen el uso correcto y conservaci\u00f3n de los filtros. El proyecto fue todo un \u00e9xito y m\u00e1s de cuarenta familias disponen ahora de estos filtros.<\/p>\n<p>El prop\u00f3sito de todo este rollo que os acabo de contar es que aquellos que tenemos acceso a agua potable, que podemos disfrutar de ella cuando queremos y que no corremos los riesgos de enfrentarnos a unas aguas contaminadas, seamos m\u00e1s conscientes del bien tan valuoso que tenemos y lo afortunados que somos. Intentemos no desperdiciar agua poniendo tropecientas lavadoras al d\u00eda, dejando el grifo abierto mientras nos lavamos los dientes o mientras fregamos, recoge el agua de la lluvia y \u00fasala para regar las plantas, date duchas en vez de ba\u00f1os&#8230; todo simple gesto, por peque\u00f1o que sea contribuye a una utilizaci\u00f3n del agua m\u00e1s sostenible y respetuosa con el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Feliz D\u00eda Mundial del Agua\u00a0\ud83d\udc99!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hoy 22 de Marzo es el D\u00eda Mundial del Agua.
