La casa tiene un gran espacio abierto en la parte trasera, es un patio trasero raro, con espacio para barbacoa, tendedero y muchas plantas silvestres.<\/p>\n<p>Me encantan las plantas, de todo tipo, con flores, sin, ex\u00f3ticas, cl\u00e1sicas &#8230; Me gusta tener la casa llena de flores, peque\u00f1os cactus, plantas verdes &#8230; pero mis preferidas son por supuesto las comestibles, (defecto profesional :p). Siempre he so\u00f1ado con tener un peque\u00f1o huerto, y poder cosechar mis propios tomates, calabacines o hierbas es uno de mis objetivos. El huertecito en esa parte trasera quedar\u00eda ideal, pero como solo venimos a Menorca en verano y algunos fines de semana al azar durante el a\u00f1o, probablemente no sea la mejor idea &#8230; As\u00ed que me contento plantando un par de mentas y albahacas para poder disfrutar de hierbas frescas en mis comidas. Adem\u00e1s de malas hierbas, hay una higuera chumba, buganvillas, margaritas, flores de hibisco, ficus enormes, lavanda y &#8230; despu\u00e9s de cinco veranos viniendo a la casa, acabo de descubrir que hay \u00a1un par de arbustos de alcaparras! (m\u00e1s dos que acaban de salir)<\/p>\n<p>La noche de nuestra llegada, mi suegro me dijo muy emocionado que ten\u00edamos que probar las alcaparras que hab\u00eda encurtido hac\u00eda unas semanas, \u00a1\u00e9l sabe bien cu\u00e1nto me encantan las cosas caseras! \u00bfY adivina qu\u00e9? \u00a1Est\u00e1n deliciosas! Curiosa, le pregunt\u00e9 d\u00f3nde hab\u00eda comprado las alcaparras &#8216;crudas&#8217;, pues aceitunas si que he visto a veces en las fruter\u00edas pero nunca alcaparras y me dijo, &#8216;\u00a1del patio trasero! Mi reacci\u00f3n fue &#8230; \u00a1\u00bfQu\u00e9 tenemos arbustos de alcaparras?! \u00a1C\u00f3mo que no lo he sabido hasta ahora! Fue gracioso, tendr\u00edais que haber visto su cara feliz y lo orgulloso que estaba de tener sus propias alcaparras.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfSab\u00edas que las alcaparras son capullos de la flor? Si las dejas crecer, se transforman en hermosas flores de color blanco rosado. Las alcaparras son deliciosas y tienen un alto valor nutritivo. Son ricas en flavonoides que son potentes fuentes de antioxidantes, que nos previenen del c\u00e1ncer y de enfermedades de la piel. Agr\u00e9galas a tu salsa de tomate para un sabor m\u00e1s rico e intenso, y es la opci\u00f3n vegetariana \/ vegana perfecta para sustituir anchoas, le dan ese sabor marinero a cualquier plato.<\/p>\n<p>Hacer encurtidos es muy f\u00e1cil, solo necesitas un poco de paciencia. Las alcaparras deben ser remojadas de antemano, tres d\u00edas, cambiando el agua diariamente, para deshacerse de su amargor y otros sabores fuertes.
