Al igual que han demostrado la eficiencia y beneficio de reducir el consumo de sal e incrementar el de potasio. La tasa de muerte por accidente cerebrovascular disminuy\u00f3 en un 62% en los hombres y un 63% en las mujeres.<\/p>\n<p>En las dietas occidentales se consume mucha, demasiada sal y generalmente son bajas en potasio, y cambiar esto requiere un esfuerzo hecho a conciencia. .<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente la ingesta media de potasio es de 2.640mg, lo que est\u00e1 muy por debajo de las recomendaciones oficiales que son de 4.700mg para un adulto.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pero la clave es no solo comer m\u00e1s alimentos con alto contenido de potasio, sino tambi\u00e9n comer alimentos bajos en sodio (bajos en sal). Pero sin olvidar que ambos son electrolitos necesarios para impulsar la bomba de sodio y potasio, la energ\u00eda mitocondrial, las contracciones musculares y el flujo linf\u00e1tico saludable.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos de mis alimentos favoritos en esta categor\u00eda incluyen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Los granos enteros son buenos, pero la avena encabeza la lista.<\/li>\n<li>Todas las frutas son excelentes, pero el aguacate, pl\u00e1tano, cantelope, d\u00e1tiles, coco, melocotones, pl\u00e1tanos y fresas encabezan mi lista.<\/li>\n<li>Las almendras, las nueces y las pacanas tienen grandes proporciones de potasio a sodio, al igual que todas las nueces.<\/li>\n<li>Todos las legumbres son geniales, pero las jud\u00edas negras y rojas encabezan la lista, al igual que los garbanzos y las lentejas.<\/li>\n<li>Todos los vegetales tienen altas proporciones de potasio y son bajos en sodio, pero las patatas blancas con las pieles son extremadamente ricas en potasio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evita los alimentos con alto contenido de sodio, en general, todos los procesados y envasados.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Deficiencias de potasio y magnesio vinculadas<\/h2>\n<p>Una encuesta de 2006 inform\u00f3 que casi la mitad (48%) de la poblaci\u00f3n estadounidense era deficiente en magnesio. El magnesio est\u00e1 relacionado con muchas de las preocupaciones de salud que se observan con las deficiencias de potasio.
